A memorial charity event for the Barrow Dart player will take place

A well-supported annual charity darts night in memory of local darts player Nikki Lavery, who died in 2017 after a battle with mental health, will take place this weekend.

The Grand Finals night for the charity event will take place at Cloud Nine, Barrow on Saturday April 9 from 5pm after qualifying which took place at Castle House Hotel Walney and Duddon Sports club on Saturday.

There are a limited number of tickets available for the night priced at £5 and all ticket money is donated to charity on the night.

There will also be a raffle and auction with all money raised this year going to St Mary’s Hospice and Woman’s Community Matters.

After the darts, raffle and auction, there will be entertainment from Zac Thompson starting at 9:30 p.m.

This year there are over £1,000 in prizes up for grabs.

Event organizers Chris Irvine and Karl Twiname said they wanted to extend a big thank you to all sponsors.

“We have some great auction prices if you’re a rugby or football fan – it’s really good to pick them up from the two local clubs.

“Finally, a thank you to everyone who has entered or contributed via a raffle or auction prize. We are always looking for prizes or donations to beat our £1,000 goal. We always set the bar high, so don’t come and help us succeed.

“We’ve won over £500 so far so fingers crossed. ”
