Baker Mayfield throws long home runs at charity event
Baker Mayfield is coming off their best professional season for the Cleveland Browns in Year 3, breaking the franchise’s long playoff drought and finally helping the team scratch the surface of their important potential. The Oklahoma alumnus is an under the radar MVP candidate ahead of the 2021 season and is expected to get Odell Beckham Jr. returning from injury after Beckham missed more than half of last season.
Training camp isn’t far away, and Mayfield was recently in Austin, Texas, during OTA training with his teammates. This weekend, he competed in the home run derby for Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

Cleveland returns a young and talented core that led the team to a road playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, and Mayfield is obviously the most important piece. Browns general manager Andrew Berry recently said he expected big things for Mayfield this season during an appearance on the “Ross Tucker Podcast”.

“He is entering his first offseason where the coaching staff, the offensive system is exactly the same, not to mention the fact that there has been very little turnover on the offensive end of the ball, and we are delighted that he continues to making progress under (coach) Kevin’s (Stefanski) tutelage in this attack because we think he’s a very talented player, ”said Berry. “We think he’s very talented and that he really embodies the characteristics that we want in our program, so we’re excited about his potential this coming year and he’s been working hard throughout the offseason.”
