Brewster Fire/Rescue Hosts Man-in-the-Machine Training

BREWER – On Thursday, October 20, fifteen Brewster firefighters and several other members of surrounding mutual aid services attended a full-day NFPA 1670 Man-in-the-Machine Technical Rescue training program presented by a group of expert instructors from Rescue Products, Inc.

The program included a morning classroom awareness session and an afternoon of hands-on training at the operations and technician level on tool selection and use and several real-life emergency scenarios, including ring removals , snow blower and rebar entrapments, vehicle extrication, food grinder and heavy duty vehicles. machine entrapments, removal of protester lockouts, and patient assessment, care and transport. It was an excellent day of training delivered by a group of qualified instructors who provided our members and mutual aid partners with the knowledge, skills and abilities to respond and operate in these types of emergencies.
