Construction has started on a development of new houses in Greenock, West Scotland, which will allow older people and people with disabilities to live as independently as possible.

Housing and care in Blackwood is transforming MacLehose Court into modern, self-contained apartments, which will support people with various mobility issues. In collaboration with GHI contractors, the redevelopment will see the old nursing home transformed into 22 new accessible homes.

Blackwood aims to make the new homes available to customers later this year, in partnership with the Scottish Government and Inverclyde Council, in a move that will increase the scale of accessible housing in Inverclyde.

Simon Fitzpatrick, Director of Development and Trade at Blackwood, said: “We are delighted that construction has now started on the site to deliver 22 new accessible homes to Greenock.

“We have seen an increase in demand for more accessible housing, so we are really excited to see the redevelopment of MacLehose Court begin as it will add to the supply of these units for customers. We look forward to seeing the homes completed and welcoming new customers later this year.

MacLehose Court operated as a care home until 2020, when the charity made the decision to move away from a residential setting and create a range of accessible housing essential to promote independent living.

Blackwood has a long history of creating quality, innovative and accessible homes to create homes that people of all ages and levels of mobility can enjoy. Its most recent development is Helenvale in Glasgow, a set of 24 very accessible and connected two-bedroom houses.

The association aims to help people live their lives to the fullest, by providing them with services that help them live independently.

As Blackwood works in 29 of Scotland’s 32 local authorities, it is more dispersed than most other care or housing providers and has used its investment in design and technology innovation, combined with excellent teams of staff, to give customers more choice and control across Scotland.

MUSEUM Through his difficult upbringing, 19-year-old Tyrese Maseko vowed that other children should not suffer in the same way he does.

With determined ambition, the teenager from the suburb of Nketa created a charity, Africa Reunion Trust, which was registered last year to help children in need. Being an orphan and having a poor education motivated him to start a charity dedicated to helping orphans, people with disabilities and families headed by children.

Tyrese also works to raise awareness of social issues. It is a charitable organization dedicated to helping children in need.

After his mother died in 2015 when he was 14, Maseko had to take care of his younger sister and life was not easy for both of them as he had to take on adult-sized physical and mental chores. .

He sold part of the homestead to raise funds.

Tyrese still plays the role of parent and brother to her brother who is now 14 years old.

“I am an orphan; I never saw my father and lost my mother on my first day in high school in 2015. Life after my mother died was not easy. I have been rejected by many people, relatives and friends. I had to stay with my younger sister who is 14 and sold my late mother’s sewing machine to make ends meet even though it wasn’t enough to meet all of our needs, ” said Tyrese.

He said he swore to himself that the other children wouldn’t suffer like him.

He then ventured into the art of designing dolls called puppets that often resemble a person that are animated or manipulated so that they can move their hands, arms, or have control devices such as rods or rods. ropes to move the body, head, limbs, among others.

Tyrese said he used the money he got to support his brother and other children in need.

“I ventured into puppetry, got hired by churches, schools, and got the small amounts that helped me start the organization and donate,” Tyrese said.

He said he had the opportunity to be part of the National AIDS Council’s youth network and gained experience working with other young people and seeing the plight of other young people, which motivated him to give the little he had.

Tyrese also raises money to donate to vulnerable people by selling vegetables he gets from his garden.

“I used the money I earn from selling vegetables that I grow in my garden to buy basic items like sanitary clothes for the girls. I bought food, masks, clothes and blankets for orphans, street children and some families headed by children, ” he added.

The adolescent’s wish is to help those who are struggling to put food on the table. This inspired him to found a charity called Africa Re-union Trust whose goal is to end poverty by meeting basic needs and educating communities on how to fight poverty and hunger.

“Our goal is to end poverty by donating and helping orphans, people with disabilities, street children and families headed by children. We also offer courses on HIV and AIDS, ” Tyrese said.

He said last month that he was able to mobilize young people and organized a health awareness campaign in Nkulumane, where he partnered with some organizations that then raised awareness among young people about health issues.

“Last month, we organized a health awareness event in Nkulumane where we partnered with different organizations and young people were sensitized on health issues and received hygienic clothes for girls,” he said. he declares.

He appealed to supporters who would also like to give to people in need and develop his organization and be able to reach large numbers of people in the city.

Stephanie McMahon is someone who constantly works on behalf of WWE to benefit the business in any way she can. She’s the Chief Brand Officer, which makes her the face of the company, anyway. But she worked hard to get that spot. She earns a lot of money thanks to this position which often goes through charitable works.

As seen in the past, Stephanie McMahon has played an important role in campaigns such as Susan G Komen, Breast Cancer Awareness, Make A Wish or Connors Cure, all of which were for noble purposes. Recently, she has given back a large part of her earnings. According to Wrestling Observer Bulletin, The Billion Dollar Princess donated $ 900,000 to the ChadTough Foundation.

This is a charitable foundation created to help fight a rare form of brain cancer called diffuse intrinsic pontic glioma. Dick Vitale, a well-known basketball commentator, also made a huge donation for this campaign. This form of brain cancer is a fatal diagnosis and therefore these funds will be greatly helped.

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H own more WWE shares than Vince McMahon

Stephanie McMahon may not have to worry much about getting these amounts back as she holds a leadership position in WWE. She and her husband Triple H now own more combined WWE shares than Vince McMahon, which obviously keeps them in the race to take over the business when Vince steps down. She would have earned a base of $ 730,000 with her contract with WWE in 2020, excluding incentives, bonuses and stock options.

WWE is constantly investing in its own business and Triple H and Stephanie McMahon now have a larger stake than Mr. McMahon. New documents filed with the SEC show Vince McMahon bought 19,875 shares, leaving him with a new balance of 89,496 shares. His daughter and son-in-law were also in the race to buy.

Triple H bought 5,644 shares, which keeps him with 87,046 shares roughly 2,000 less than his stepfather. As for Stéphanie McMahon, she also won 5,644 shares, which led her to 82,042 shares. In total, WWE’s powerful couple now have 169,088 shares.

Litterwatch Sandwell is a community-run charity, supported by Sandwell Council and Serco, that helps Tipton residents tackle environmental issues and report waste issues.

Founded by the late Councilor Bob Lloyd in 1997, the charity has worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to clean the streets around the community.

CEO Alicia Wingfield said the charity has started to focus on collecting and storing used face masks due to the increasing amount being discarded.

She said: “We have noticed a significant increase in the number of face masks thrown away, first outside supermarkets, then in the bushes and on the canal.

“They are a risk because, first of all, you are wearing them because of Covid and they are near your mouth.

“Also, we see the wildlife entangling there, with the beaks, feet, legs and fins of birds, and how they flow down the canals into sewers and rivers and into the ocean.”

The 55-year-old said groups from the association went out to collect and bag trash every day, with a group she led going through 40 bags of trash in a day.

She said: “What we are asking people to do is wear reusable masks and, along with disposable masks, find a trash can nearby or put it in your pocket and throw it at home. “

She said the number of volunteers has grown significantly over the past year, from 138 in January 2020 to more than 800 in January 2021.

She also spoke about the work the charity has done over the past 24 years to help people raise awareness about the importance of the environment and sent a message to the public.

She said: “Anyone can make a difference, even if it’s two minutes of your time or two hours, you can make a difference.”
