Do The Locomotion… Northern offers free parking and rides for charity event in Eaglescliffe

Northern is ready to support The Locomotion UK by providing free parking along the route to the start line.

Competitions and supporters will be able to use the car park at Northern’s Eaglescliffe station free of charge during the event which takes place on 25 September.

Those taking part in the Five Mile Charity Run can also benefit from a free journey from Eaglescliffe to Thornaby Station. Riders should register at The Locomotion pub, located close to Eaglescliffe station, where vehicles can be left before taking the train to Thornaby. On arriving at Thornaby Station it is only a short walk over Thornaby Bridge to the start line. The race route will take runners back to the finish line which is located at The Locomotion.

Orchard Eagles Running Club and The Locomotion Pub in Eaglescliffe have joined forces to run The Locomotion Charity Run, raising money for the Great North Air Ambulance. The race will feature 2 different routes, one 10 mile and one 5 mile following the original Stockton and Darlington Railway route to celebrate the history of North East Engineering.

Kerry Peters, Northern Regional Manager, said: “Good luck to everyone involved in this fantastic event.

“At Northern, we are proud to be part of the communities we serve and aim to make a positive impact for the North.”

As the UK’s second largest rail operator, Northern offers over 2,000 services each day to over 500 stations across the North of England.
