Tarporley Art Trail charity event planned for The Swan pub
A ‘meet the artist’ tour of the Tarporley Art Trail and a six-day group exhibition takes place at the Swan at Tarporley.
The event is part of Tarporley Big Weekend, where community organizations join forces to allow visitors to browse the village’s independent shops, watch performances by local artists and take an artistic journey through the village.
The Swan has teamed up with The Craft Room in Tarporley to be the final destination of their “Art Trail”.
Money raised from the event will go to Tarporley War Memorial Hospital, one of the few remaining hospitals dedicated to the well-being of the community and surrounding villages.
The Tarporley Art Trail runs from September 10-16, with a private view on Friday September 10 at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost £ 20 and attendees can meet the artists, see the artwork first, and enjoy the awnings and bubbly.
Up to 39 artists will exhibit some of their work in the group exhibition at The Swan.
The works will be available for sale, with 15% of each sale also going to charity.
The art will be on display in stores up and down Main Street.
Many young students from The Craft Room will present their paintings, with the participation of children aged 6 to 13 years old.
Woody Barlow, Managing Director of Bear Inns, owner of The Swan said: “We are very proud to host the exhibit at The Swan and to support not only our local artists but the War Memorial Hospital and all the amazing work that they do for the community.
Rachael Carr, owner of The Craft Room in Tarporley, added: “I can’t wait to see my youngest student’s works on display and also showcase an exciting set of works by Cheshire artists to fill the main street of the great weekend.
Rachel Wright, President of the Trustees of Tarporley War Memorial Hospital, said: Wonderfully creative way too.
The exhibition is accessible free of charge from 10 p.m. to 3 p.m. from Saturday September 11 to Thursday September 16 at the Swan.
